Daniel P. "Squirrel" Melancon, Sr., 72, a native and resident of Raceland, 
passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 
St. Mary Catholic Church, Raceland, LA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 
11:00 AM Monday 

with burial to follow in St. Mary Catholic Church cemetery, Raceland.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry F. Melancon; son, Daniel "Danny" Melancon, 
Jr. (Laura); daughter, Danielle Melancon Decker (Roger); grandchildren, Lauren 
and Emilie Melancon, Zachary Decker; brother, Curtis Melancon and sisters, 
Jackie Stassi, Juanita Matherne and Roxanne Hernandez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Noella Baudoin Melancon.0 
and brothers, C.J. Melancon and Ronald Melancon.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
