He was a native of Charleston, West Virginia, and resident of Houma, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home and Saturday October 15, 2016 from 9:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Jenny Bergeron Reading; Parents, Charles William Reading and late Lois Wilson Reading; Son, Patrick Reading and wife Pamela Manuel Reading; Daughters, Colleen Reading Wilson and husband James, Dawn Reading Morgan and husband Rory, Deanna Reading Greenberg and husband Marc; Brother, Robert Reading; Sisters, Rebecca Reading; Grandchildren, Joshua and Courtney LaCoste, Brenin Stephenson, Katelyn Lapeyrouse, Caleb Greenberg, Chandler, Ariana, and Triston Reading, and Step- Grandchildren, Kerra and Kyla Morgan; and Great Grand-daughter, Aubrey Jane Ledet. He is preceded by his previous wife JoAnn Marie Garitty Reading. Charles was an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints Fan. He gave his time as a volunteer Fire Fighter at the Bayou Blue Volunteer Fire Department in which he also served as past President. He enjoyed spending time with his family; whom he loved dearly, most especially his grandchildren. Charles was a retired Lieutenant with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Garden of Memories Cemetery, Inc. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Reading family. ======================
