He was a native of Florence, Alabama and a resident of Houma. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Monday, November 14, 2016 beginning at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Reflection of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date. Michael is survived by his loving wife Brittany Ambrose Neyland; daughter, Taylor Rayne Neyland; parents, Donald and Susan Stelson Neyland; sister, Catherine Parker and husband Benjamin; nephew, Maxwell Allen Parker; maternal grandmother, Betty Stelson; paternal grandparents, Larry and Vera Neyland; uncle and aunt, Chuck and Bessie Smith; cousins, Jon, Josh, and Sarah; devoted friend, Mitchell Chaisson; also, surviving Michael is his South Terrebonne Church of Christ family; and his brothers in blue. Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fred Stelson. Michael was a loving son, husband, and father, his life was short but his memories will remain in everyone’s hearts. Michael married his high school sweet heart in 2012 and had a beautiful daughter Taylor. Michael followed his grandfather’s footsteps to care and protect his community, he worked for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s office since 2011. Michael was fun, loving and compassionate to his family and friends; he would always give his family a hug or a kiss before leaving the house. His family is left with beautiful memories especially vacations and spending quality time with them on the beach. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Neyland family. ======================
