Elma Simon Becnel, 88, passed away December 31, 2016. 
She was a native and resident of Vacherie, LA.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Our Lady 
of Peace Catholic Church from 8:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 
11:00 am. 
The burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Deborah B. Hotard (Ray), Leona B. “Peach” 
Grobe (Emile “Buck”), Glenn P. Becnel (Mickey), Martin R. Becnel (Libby) and 
Sally B. Tregre; son-in-law, Dennis Kraemer; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-
grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Becnel; parents, Dano and 
Leona Simon; daughter, Glenda B. Kraemer; son, Dano P. Becnel and daughter-in-
law, Diane; grandchild, Amanda Hotard; sister, Mary Lou Cortez and brother, 
Thomas Simon.

The family would like to thank the staff of Audubon Guest House and St. 
Catherine's Hospice.
