Belanger Sr., 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on December 7, 2016 at 10:45AM. A Visitation will be held on December 9, 2016 from 9:00AM until service time at St. Matthews Episcopal Church. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday at St. Matthews Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery #2. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Lydicia “Lady” Belanger; son, Harold Belanger Jr “Bubba” and wife Dorothy; daughters, Janet B. Henry and companion Nathan Landry, Dana B. Williams and husband John D. Williams; grandchildren, Andrea Bergeron and husband Cory Bergeron, Rachel Belanger, and Zachary Belanger; great grandchildren, Brady and Olivia Hebert; Evan, Michael, Alexandra Bergeron. He is preceded by his parents, Harold A. Belanger and Josephine Prosperie Thibodeaux; sisters, Estelle Trahan, and Marlene Trosclair. Harold was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps from 1947 until 1950; serving his country in Morocco. He was the owner of Sea Way Seafood Restaurant on Polk Street in Houma LA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Everyone who has ever met him; loved him. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank the University Hospital in New Orleans, LA and Haydel Memorial Hospice, and his nurses Nathanial “Snake” and Carol Haydel. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Houma, LA.
