He left his earthly life to be with his Heavenly Father on his son Jesus’ Christ birthday. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara LeCompte Breaux; son, Ernest “Sonny” Breaux and wife, Joanna Lina Breaux; daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” and husband Francis LeMoine; Pattie Breaux Bergeron and husband Dale “Pete” Bergeron; grandchildren, Michael Domangue, Nathan Anglin, Morgan LeMoine Myers, Ernest Joseph “Bubba” Breaux, Jr., Lance Bergeron, Leigh LeMoine, Phillip LeMoine, Erica Breaux Babin and Angelle Bergeron; eleven great- grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Breaux Blanchard and husband John. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Berwick and Dorothy Bonvillain Breaux; mother and father-in-law, Ruffin and America Pitre LeCompte. J.B. attend St. Francis all boy’s school where he was a five-year letterman in football and baseball. He graduated in 1956 and attended Nichols State University. J.B. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, J.B. was the rock of his family and was a great role model. He was always available to help anyone in need. He was a man of discipline, faith, and hard work, he now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. J.B. would cook for anyone who needed a meal especially around Thanksgiving, he and James Aikens would go get bikes for the children to spared gifts and love to the children. He was also the story teller and love to joke around. On his pastime, he loved to fish. J.B. was in the Oil Industry from 1956 to the early 1970’s. He was a self- employed entrepreneur, owning many successful business’ which included, Breaux’s Exxon, J.B. and Barbara’s Frost Top and two convenient stores. He served sixteen years on the Terrebonne Parish Council, served three years as Council Chairman. He was also on the Louisiana Police Jury Association, American Red Cross, and TARC. and a member of the East Park Volunteer Fire Company. The family would like to thank Haydel Medical Clinic, Bayou Home Care, Cardiovascular Institute of the South, and Terrebonne General Medical Center for all their care and compassion.
