He was 98 years old. Mr. Naquin was dedicated to his family and through his example he taught them love of family and community. He graduated as salutatorian of Thibodaux High School’s Class of 1935 and married the love of his life in 1941. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Odette Cancienne Naquin, his parents Leon and Bertha Picou Naquin, his sisters Bertha Barker, Mona Larose, and Helen Hodnette. He is survived by his sister Carolyn Oncale, his children, Clyde Jr. and wife Betsy, Jacqueline and husband Bill Mason, Leila and husband Robert Guillot, Adrian and wife Lisa Naquin, and Donald and wife Deborah Naquin; his grandchildren, Brenton Naquin and wife Connie, Julie' and husband Corey Zeringue; Drew Mason and wife Rhonda, Lindsay Mason and wife Kelsi; Jennifer and husband Slattery McCollam, Michael Guillot and wife Jennifer; Joshua and Genevieve Naquin; and his great grandchildren, Lauren, Jack, Finn, Alayna, Carter, Jackson, Lilly, Blaire and David, and many nieces and nephews. At a young age, he learned about electricity and electronic theory working in his father’s business. This experience proved invaluable when he enlisted as a Private in the Army Air Corps where he taught advanced electronics and basic electrical theory at the Air Force’s electronics training facility in Madison, WI. He was selected for officer training and commissioned a Second Lieutenant while attending Yale, where he became a Communications Officer with a specialty in radar. He served in England and Germany before he was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. He returned to his father’s business and formed the corporation Leon Naquin and Son, Inc. After retirement, he was an electrical consultant for the City of Thibodaux and Shell Pipelines, taught the National Electrical Code and testified as an expert witness in court. His commitment to the community of Thibodaux was remarkable. He was a charter member of the Thibodaux Lion’s Club, served as president and maintained an active membership for 75 years. He also served as president for Laurel Valley Foundation, Nicholls Century Club, Bayou Country Club, and Associated Building Contractors of Louisiana. He served as vice-president of Lafourche National Bank’s Board of Directors, and enjoyed membership in many other civic and professional organizations. He will forever be remembered by friends and family for his generosity and sense of humor. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 22, 2016, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. and interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in his name to the Thibodaux Lions Club. Arrangements entrusted to Landry’s Funeral Home of Thibodaux, LA ======================
