Service will be Saturday, Jan. 14 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. The Mass will be 11 a.m., visitation 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Mr. Babin worked in banking and finance and was a founder and co-owner of Crescent Title in Ohio before he retired. His favorite pastime when he lived in Ohio was golf, but when he lived in Louisiana it was fishing, hunting and boating. He was also a New Orleans Saints fan and a lifelong LSU fan. He was a 1971 graduate of Terrebonne High School and a member of the Tiger football team. Before he moved to Ohio he was a member of Krewe of Terreanians. He is survived by his daughter, Katlin B. Vorndran of Louisville, Ohio, her husband, Jack and their children, James Anthony and Addison Grace; by Katlin’s mother, Mary Lopez Babin and by her grandmother, Alice Lopez of Canton, Ohio. Mr. Babin is also survived by his sister and brother, Corliss Ann Babin and CharlesR. Babin Jr. of Houma, who were honored to be his caregivers; and by his youngest brother, Robin B. Babin (Debbie) of Westminster, Colo. He is also survived by his aunts, Paula Chaisson Chauvin of Covington, La. and Irene Perman Babin of Panorama City, Calif. and by his godmother, Carol Himel Collins of Houma; nieces and nephews: Krishna Scott (Brian), Spring Herricks (Greg) and Chere Threlkeld and Jordan, Emily and Joshua Babin of Colorado; Nicholas Boudreaux and Natalie Lyons of Houma; and by Scott Warner of Pennsylvania; Amber W. Hastings (Nick) and Christie Warner of Raleigh, N.C.; Samantha Lopez of New York City; Anthony Lopez of Charlotte, N.C.; Amanda, Megan, Morgan and Christopher Lopez of Ohio; great nieces and nephews: Spencer Charles Threlkeld and Avery and Ally Herricks of Colorado; first cousins, Monica C. Bear (Raymond) of Covington, La.; Joan C. McCall (Rodney) of Katy, Tex.; Charles G. Chauvin Jr. (Marie) of Ponchatoula, La.; George B. Chauvin (Karen) of Metairie, La.; Roger Carlys Babin of Florida; cousin Dean Blanchard of California; his dear friend Becky Adair of Houma; and his first wife, Peggy Boudreaux Babin, a native of Houma and resident of Ohio and by his wonderful neighbors in Lamar Subd. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles R. Babin Sr. and Mercedes Chaisson Babin; his grandparents, Roger M. Babin and Allie Blanchard Babin and Bernard J. Chaisson and Emily Toups Chaisson; his uncles, Carlys J. Babin and Charles G. Chauvin Sr.; his godfather, Henry B. Toups; his former in-laws, Edward and Eva Boudreaux and Anthony Lopez.
