Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2017/f1701.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Cleveland "Sonny" Joseph Bergeron, Jr. was born on November 11, 1935 and passed on January 24th, 2017. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Cleveland, Sr. and Irene Callahan Bergeron, his sisters Elaine Turcotte and Ruth Achee, and his brother-in-law Donovan Achee. Cleveland "Sonny" was a beloved son, nephew, husband, father, and grandfather. A dancer, romancer, lover of puzzles, books, mysteries, and coins. He was a proud veteran, devoted husband of 58 years, and a wonderful provider for his family. He was hard-working and dedicated, and as his nickname "Dudley Do- Right" aptly implied, he had a strong sense of honor, justice, and moral code. He gifted his children with his time, honesty, integrity, strength, laughter, and humor. To remember him always, Cleveland leaves behind his wife, Gisela Bergeron; children, Heidi Bergeron, Norbert "Pete" Bergeron and his wife Pauline, Monika Marcel and her husband Michael, and Angelika "Angie" Thompson and her husband Darrin; and eight grandchildren, Jacie, Madisen, Colby, Marissa, David, Joseph, Peter, Donovan, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear life-long friends. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Tuesday, January 31st at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church with a Mass at 11am. Following Mass, he will be interred at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Cemetery One. Immediately after the interment at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery I, friends are invited to attend a small reception that will be held at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church in (Herbert Hall). In lieu of flowers, his wife and family would like to honor his memory with donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
