Vilrey “TV” Gagneaux, died Saturday January 28 in her home in Schriever with 
her daughters by her side.

She was born on March 9, 1924 and was a native of Gray, Louisiana. 

Vilrey devoted her life to making a warm and welcoming home for her family. 
Despite being legally blind and deaf, her tenacity and faith is inspiring to 
her loved ones and others who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters Faye Gagneaux Seal (Steve), and Vanessa 
Gagneaux Knight (Curt); her grandchildren Katie Seal Aucoin (Clint), Amy Seal 
(Jody), and Betsy Seal-Eschete (Adam), Matthew Knight and Annie Knight; and her 
great grandchildren Jacob Aucoin and Joshua Aucoin, and her sister Laura 
Thibodeaux.

Vilrey was preceded in death by her husband Kirvey Gagneaux, infant son Carl 
Joseph Gagneaux, her parents Clay and Ozea Sonier, her brothers Nelson Sonier, 
Chester “Bud” Sonier, Mitchell Sonier and sisters Jenny Stevens, Mattie Babin, 
and June Oncale.

Visitation will be at 9am Tuesday Jan 31, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in 
Schriever until the funeral at 11am. A 

Christian burial will follow in St. Bridget Catholic Church cemetery.

The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to Notre Dame Hopice for 
taking care of our mom with such love and compassion. Also we want to offer 
heartfelt thanks to all family and friends who have helped us during this time.
