Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2017/f1701.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Melvina Therese Ledet Hunter, 79, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off after her 2nd bout with cancer and with her family by her side was reunited with her husband in heaven. Visitation will be held at Christian Family Center on Wednesday, February 1st from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday February 2nd at 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Barrios Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Morris "Brother Moe" (Pamela) Hunter, Jr., Wayne (Suzette) Hunter, Todd (Sandy) Hunter, Sr.; daughters, Ramona (Tom) Soper, Bridget (Fiancé, Eddie Berthelot, Jr.) Hunter; Wanda (Wayne) Grabert; 24 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rev. Morris "Brother Moe" Hunter, Sr.; parents, Sylves and Elizza Ledet; brothers, Dudley Ledet, Anthony Ledet, Wade Ledet, Peter Ledet; sisters, Emelda St. Pierre, Ruth Richard. She was an active member of Christian Family Center. She volunteered her time at the Hope Center. She was a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Michael Marcello for the care he gave their mother. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Hope Center.
