Laura Billiot Matherne, 77, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, 
LA., passed away Jan. 24, 2017 at 4:20 p.m. 

Visitation will take place Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church in Cut Off, La. From 10 a.m. until service time. A funeral Mass will be 
celebrated at 12 noon, 

with burial to follow at Cheramie Cemetery.

Laura is survived by her sons, Roddie Matherne and wife, Christine, Rodney 
Matherne and wife, Gussie, and Warren Matherne and wife, Mary; daughter, Evelyn 
Jarrell and husband, Buster; brothers, Kevin Billiot and Whitney Billiot; 
sisters, Gayle Billiot, Patty Huskey, and Florena Kiger; 10 grandchildren, 19 
great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Matherne; parents, Edison 
and Auretia Mobley Billiot; son, Terry Matherne; daughter, Gay Marie Matherne; 
brothers, Raymond, Gary and Jerry Billiot; sisters, Rosalie Billiot and 
Isabella Billiot; two grandchild, Rose Mary Matherne and Mary Rose Matherne; 
great-grandchild, Tyler Ougel.

Laura loved her family and enjoyed shopping at Walmart. She was an avid fan of 
the stories.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off entrusted with arrangements.
