Jowanda Marie Chatman Murray, 36, a native of Terrebonne Parish, passed away 
peacefully at 4:32 a.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on 
Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 104 Johnson 
Ridge Lane in Thibodaux. 

Burial will follow in Halfway Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband Bernie Murray, Sr.; sons JoVohn and Derrion 
Gross, Trevor Schrimser, Ja-Hari, Jakobee and Jakyree Murray, and Tajuan 
Barber; parents, Gilmore Chatman, Sr. (Margarite) and Julie Butler Chatman; 
brother, Gilmore Chatman, Jr. (Michelle); sisters, Jennifer C. Anderson 
(Jessie) and Odessa M. Chatman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by Jalisa Chatman; paternal grandparents, Hosea and 
Mary Chatman; maternal grandparents, Owen and Eunice Butler.

Arrangements entrusted to Jones Funeral Home of Houma.
