Plaisance Jr., passed away in his home on Monday, January 23, 2017, at the age of 78. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chackbay. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. with the mass held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Born, January 8, 1939, to Eunice LeRay Plaisance and Edwis J. Plaisance, Sr., he owned Acadian T.V. and Acadian Electrical Contractors. As a lifelong resident of the Thibodaux- Chackbay area, he was a prominent member of the Our Lady of Prompt Succor community where he enjoyed being a fourth degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. EJ saw himself as an experienced traveler both domestically and internationally. As a seasoned traveler, he enjoyed many trips with his grandchildren. He enjoyed the education and spiritual parts of the Vatican and Jerusalem as these were some of his last trips. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ledet Plaisance, whom he has been married to for the last 58 years. His children, Melanie, Evan and Annette have blessed him with 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. His oldest daughter, Melanie Plaisance Benoit, married to Randall Benoit, gave him three grand children: Matthew Benoit, Rachel Benoit Hebert married to Derek Hebert, and Monica Benoit Charpentier married to Joseph Charpentier. Evan Plaisance, married to Phyllis Percle Plaisance, gave him two: Lauren Plaisance Lasserre married to Lee Lasserre and Katie Plaisance Danos married to John Danos. Annette Plaisance Dempster, married to C.J. (Callen) Dempster, Jr. gave him four: Benjamin Dempster married to Jamie A. Dempster, Callie Dempster Aucoin married to Seth Aucoin, Tiffani Dempster and Hope Dempster. His eight great grandchildren are: Caleb Junguina, Callen and Cayden Dempster, Quynn Aucoin, Harper and Zander Danos, Gabriel Dempster-Martin, and Madeline Charpentier. He is also survived by his brothers: Patrick and Kenneth Plaisance, and stepmother, Delores Plaisance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Edwis Plaisance, Sr. and his brother Stanley Plaisance. We would like to acknowledge our gratitude to his medical team of doctors and nurses from Home Health Center of Thibodaux Regional and Dr. Peter Fail from CIS during his most recent illness. Our deepest appreciation goes to the Chackbay Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance, and the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chackbay, Louisiana.
