He is a native Chauvin, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Chauvin Funeral Home and Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 9:00AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Liturgy of the Word will begin at 10:00AM at Chauvin Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Chauvin, LA. He is survived by his Loving wife of 71 years, Wilma Rhodes Portier; daughter, Jeanne Portier Howard and husband Johnny Blane Howard Houma, LA; son-in-law, Randy Fair of Shreveport, LA; grandson, Curtis O’Neal Howard and Tamicka Kane, Grandaughter, Desiree’ Howard Triche and husband Armond “Tee” Triche Jr.; and great grandchildren, David Triche, Cameron Triche, Tayah Howard, Braden Triche He is preceded by his parents, Ernest Portier Sr. and Estelle Authement Portier; daughter, Darlene Portier Fair; brothers, Wiley Portier and Ernest Portier Jr.; and sisters, Octavie Lapeyrouse, Angel LeBeouf, Velma Foret, Mabel Smith, Lillian LeBeouf; Aubrey loved to work at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA. He loved serving under Monsignor Brunet and with the staff of St. Joseph. He was a bus driver for Terrebonne Parish. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Force and a Veteran of the Second World War. Aubrey enjoyed taking his family on vacations in The Smoky Mountains and Biloxi, MS. The family would like to send a warm thank you to The Sweets at Sugar Mill Point of Houma, the nursing staff at T.G.M.C., and Dr. Henry, Dr. Stone, and Dr. McGaw.
