Born in New Orleans, she grew up in Port Sulphur, LA , and had been a longtime resident of Vacherie and Thibodaux, LA where she resided with her husband of 57 years. More recently, she relocated to Kingwood, TX to be closer to her family. She is survived by her sons, Kevin G. Waguespack (Tamara Carlson Waguespack) of Kingwood, TX, and Dr. Steven G. Waguespack (Shelley Weaver Waguespack) of Pearland, TX; sister Kathleen Vale Thompson of Ocala, FL; and grandchildren, K. Michael, John, Evan, Colin, Nathaniel and Madeleine Waguespack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo R. Vale and Bernice Bengert Vale; son John David Waguespack; sister Judith Vale Bertrand; brother Robert T. Vale; and husband John B. Waguespack. Betty was a very loving wife, mother, sister, and Grammy who was so proud of her family. Her caring extended to others beyond her immediate family and friends through a long career in nursing. Betty never met a stranger and was blessed with many lifelong friendships. She was a joy to be around and her spirituality was an inspiration to her family. Betty was loved by many people who will miss her dearly but who are comforted by the fact she is reunited with her loved ones in a better place. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12 noon on Saturday January 21, 2017 at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie, LA with Father Vincent Dufresne officiating. Friends and family are invited to join Betty’s family starting at 10 a.m. that day to celebrate Betty’s life; a rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in St. Philip Catholic Church cemetery in Vacherie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John Ritter Research Program in Aortic and Vascular Diseases. Landry's Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements. ======================
