YOUNG: John W. "Porain" Young, Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 
at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center. 
He was 71, and a native and resident of Raceland, LA. 

Visitation on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 168 Bracato 
Lane, Raceland, LA 70394 from 9:00am to Religious Services at 11:00am. 

Burial in Brooklyn Cemetery, Raceland, LA. 

Survived by his wife, Laura Young; 1 son, John Young, Jr.; 5 daughters, Lavone 
Poole (Gordon), Trisha Robinson (Roy), Danyell Brooks (Fredrick), Joanell Young 
and Nicole Young; 2 brothers, Larry Young and Christopher Young; 2 sisters, 
Roslyn Green (David) and Lucy Young; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a 
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Irma and Rev. John Young, Sr.; step-mother, 
Martha Young; 1 son, Orlando Young; 2 sisters, Evelyn Curry and Audrey Hester.

LA.
