Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2017/f1702.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Marjorie Verrett Barker,77, a native of Morgan City and longtime resident of Lockport died on February 20, 2017 Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Holy Savior Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday with burial at a later date. She is survived by her sons, Edward W. Barker III and wife Sunnie of Bellville, TX, Eric Barker and wife Christine, and two grandsons, Nicholas and Lucas Barker of Lafayette, LA; sister Rose Hardy of Casper, WY and brother, Bill Verrett of Baton Rouge, La. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Barker Jr, her parents W.B. and Mildred Verrett, and her brother Jimmie Verrett. She was a former member of the faculty of Lockport Junior High School, past president of Lafourche Heritage Society, secretary and co-founder of Bayou Lafourche Folklife and Heritage Museum, board member of Bayou Playhouse, member of Holy Savior Church fund raising committee, former member of Houma Bayouside Barbershop Chorus, Joyous Sounds singers, Holy Savior Guitar Choir and Harmony Choir and member of the of the Morgan City High School Class of '58.
