She gained her Angel wings on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was a native and resident of Houma. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16, 2017 beginning at 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, February 17, 2017 in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home followed by funeral and prayer services to begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 51 years, Ronald Patrick Bergeron. Together they have 5 children: Candy Marie Boudreaux and husband, Dallas; Ronald “Beau” Bergeron, Jr. and wife Dawn; Heidi Lynn LeCompte and husband, Rodney; Shana Flair Naquin and husband, Kirk; and Misty Rose Marcel and husband, Jay. She was a proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren whom she adored and was so proud of: Erica LeCompte Rock and husband Bobby; Beth Marie Boudreaux; Austin Joseph Boudreaux and fiancée, Trista LeBoeuf; Alyson Kate LeCompte; Jayce Kyle Marcel; Dylan Patrick Bergeron; Maycee Rose Marcel; Lauren Ashley Bergeron; Jayden Kyle Marcel; Madelyn Kate Naquin; and Maylen Rose Marcel; and the newest addition, one great-grandchild Sterling Anthony Boudreaux. Her sisters: Marion Eschete, Linda (Ivy) Courteaux; brothers, Roland (Eunice) Portier, Daniel (Jane) Portier, Otis (Anita) Portier, and Gilbert (Gloria) Portier. Her stepbrothers and sister, Cyril Portier, Jr., Robert Portier, Gene Portier, Harry Portier, and Patty Portier. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth Bergeron Portier and Otis Joseph Portier; Stepfather, Cyril Portier; sister and brother-in-law Estelle and Tony Indovina; brother-in-law Oris “Plucky” Portier; stepbrothers, Larry Portier and Raymond Portier. She was a loving, giving, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She always had an open door and always made people feel welcome. She loved to cook and no one ever left her house hungry. She also enjoyed crocheting and carving and would often make things for and with her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her, and she could light up the room with her smile. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and would brag about her grandchildren’s accomplishments to just about anyone.
