He was a native of Houma and a resident of Schriever, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 10 AM until funeral time at St. Bridget Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM. Burial will be held in St. Bridget Cemetery. He is survived by his children, Linda C. Blakeman, Beverly C. Gros and husband, Russell, Ray A. Carlos, Susan C. Mahan and husband, Gerald “Wayne”, and James J. Carlos and wife, Mary; daughter-in-law, Nancy Carlos; grandchildren, Brett Carlos, Andy Carlos and wife, Mandy, Jay Carlos and wife, Brandy, Donnie Henry and husband, Paul, Sherry Whitney and husband, Reed, Heidi Dugan and husband, James, Chad Gros and wife, Betsy, Brandi Gros, Ashley Triche and husband, Jamie, Jade Morris, Brandon Gamble, Nicole Clavier, Melissa Adams, Jeffrey Mahan and wife, Angel, Candice King and husband, Cory, Michelle Carlos and fiance, Gabriel, and Hunter Carlos , Missie Verret and husband Jody, and Lonnie Rodrigue; great-grandchildren, Ciera, Ryan, Tucker, Dawsen, Brianna, Chandler, James III, Jackson, Colin, Braxton, Gabrielle, one on the way River, Maddy, Olivia, Dominique, Gabriella, Carter, and Gabriel and Allyson; great-great- grandchild, Kylie. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Thelma M. Brunet Carlos; son, Donald L. Carlos: parents, Herbert and Bernadette Bergeron Carlos; brothers, Herbert “Buddy” Carlos, Leo and Charles Carlos; sisters, Mabel Harrell, Beulah Dollar, and Helen Whipple. He was a parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church. He served in U.S. Army Air Corp in New Guinea in the Philippines during WWII. He retired from Texaco after 35 years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
