Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Twin City Funeral Home, 412 4th St, Morgan City, LA 70380 on Friday, March 3, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at Holy Family Catholic Church, 6641 Grand Caillou Rd, Dulac, LA 70353 on Saturday beginning at 8:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery, Dulac. Rita is survived by her sons, Rachael M. Dupre and wife, Waldine, and Allen J. Dupre, Jr.; daughters, Andrea D. Baum and husband, Vic, Christine A. Dupre, Valina D. Blanchard and husband, Stewart, Mona D. Carpenter, and Leslie D. Woolam and husband, Patrick; daughter-in-law, Susan K. Dupre; over 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Allen Joseph Dupre, Sr.; son, Kelly A. Dupre, Sr.; parents, Clarence and Velina Luke Duplantis; brothers, Alvin, Albert, Wilbert, Elwin, Irvin and Clarence Jr. Duplantis; sisters, Irene Carrere, Eveline Boudreaux, Mildred Bourg and Wilma Pellegrin. Rita was a beautiful woman and a prayer warrior who had a smile for everyone. She loved her family dearly and cherished all her grandchildren. She now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and now dances with her husband in Heaven. Rita was an entrepreneur, of sorts. She was very talented, she enjoyed ceramics, baking, crafts, making candles and was an outstanding seamstress. She also sold Avon for fifteen years. Rita made money doing and selling the things she loved and brought her joy to be able to help support her household. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Haydel for his love, care, and compassion. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
