He was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 10 AM until funeral time at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM. Burial will be held in St. Francis #2 Cemetery, Houma, LA. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Ann Boudreaux Eschete; son, Gregory J. Eschete; daughters, Jennifer E. Bennett, Laura E. Chauvin and husband, Jody, and Cynthia Mary Eschete; sisters, Patricia E. Ledet, Ann E. Adams, and Nancy E. Trahan; grandchildren, Zachary J. Quatrevingt and wife, Jennifer, Carrie V. Trosclair and husband, Jim, Bradley J. Voisin, Jr. and wife, Erin, and Romettra V. Neal and husband, Toby; great-grandchildren, Abbigail E. and Ally Nicole Tindell, and Emma N. and Ella Grace Quatrevingt. He is preceded in death by his parents, Noel Paul and Anne “Annie” Josephine Blanchard Eschete; He was a parishioner of Maria Immaculata Catholic Church. He was in automobile sales for approximately 40 years, owning his own car business since 1984. He was drafted during the Korean Conflict, and after serving 2 years in Germany, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Lenox Hotard Post #31. Also he was a member of Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Delta Region since 1962. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a kind, generous man who always put others before himself. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Eschete Family.
