She is survived by her son, Dr. John Rhodes Hebert (Carol) and her daughters, Suzanne H. Daly (Ted), Denise H. Fox, 5 grandchildren; Sharon H. Maumus (Charles), Lauren D. Homer (Christopher), Denise D. Semple (Hunter), Jonathan J. Fox (Alexis), Benjamin Hebert, and 7 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Roth, Sr. and Edna Rhoades Roth; husband, L.J. Hebert, Jr.; grandson, Benjamin L. Daly; granddaughter, Christine E. Hebert; brother, Benjamin Roth, Jr.; and sisters, Emeline R. Staples and Alice R. Frost. Betty was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church where she served in many positions. Avid learner that she was, she continued her thirst for knowledge by attending Nicholls State University in her later years. She was an ambassador for the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce and received the Honorary Lifetime Award for her contributions. She was a warm, welcoming citizen and reached out to all who were new to Thibodaux. Two of her greatest loves were entertaining family and friends and gardening in the yard where she spent many happy hours. Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 10:30 am to 12 Noon at the First Presbyterian Church, 522 Green St., Thibodaux, LA. A memorial service will follow at the church at 12 Noon with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Joseph Hospice or St. Joseph Manor.
