She was a longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, March 4, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery Billie was blessed with a beautiful family, she is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, Alvaro “Jimmy” Jimenez; daughters, Gwen and husband Jerry Pitre, Lisa and husband Bob Life; grandchildren, Denise and husband Perry Dufren, Amy and husband Percy Voisin, Walton III “B-Du” and William Boudreaux, Kayla and husband Steve Quiroz, Janie and Daniel Life; great-grandchildren, Meagan Guidry, and Tyler Voisin; sister-in-law, Margie Bergeron; step-children, Wayne, Tony, Morgan and wife Misty, Louis and wife Virginia, Kathy Jimenez; numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Billie had a great friendship and loved her former step daughter-in-law, Susan and Andre’. Billie is preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd A. Dupre, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Morris Malbrough Jr.; Stepson, Johnny Jimenez; parents, Doville and Elda C. Bergeron; siblings, Herman and wife Esther Thompson, Russell Bergeron, Rubella and husband Adney Adams, Gilbert and wife Rita Bergeron, Elsie Bergeron, Norman and wife Estelle Bergeron and William Bergeron. Billie was born and raised on Ashland Plantation in Ashland, Louisiana until her marriage to Floyd A. Dupre. They were married for forty years until his death in 1983. Billie married Alvaro “Jimmy” Jimenez in 1990. Billie graduated in 1939. After graduation, she worked for the State of Louisiana for a short period. She was then hired at Houma Butane Gas Company until she joined the Lake Oyster and Fish Company working for Theo Engeron, her grandfather-in-law. Billie then was hired by C.D. McKey for his East Main Service Station which was located across from Terrebonne General Hospital. C.D. McKey and H.P. St. Martin opened Houma Tire Service then Houma Value Service. Billie continued to work for Mr. McKey and Mr. H.P. St. Martin at Houma Value Service until the early 1990’s. Upon marrying Jimmy, she worked for his business. Billie was the bookkeeper for all the above companies. As per one of her many memories she states “I’ve been a Bookkeeper forever, I love this work.” Billie worked well into her eighties. Billie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings. Being with her family was her greatest joy. She loved to travel, dance and sing. Billie loved Mardi Gras season! She was a longtime member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians holding the treasurer position for many, many, years. Billie was the first Queen of the Krewe of Flames in 1958. She was also involved in the Houmas while her first husband, Floyd, was a longtime member. The family would like to extend their special thanks to all the staff at The Medical Team, Terrebonne Council on Aging, Journey Hospice, and Dr. Ray Cinnater’s Clinic. Our warmest thanks to Mrs. Sally Pertuit, Jo and Virginia. A great BIG thanks to Elsie “Punie” David, Peggy LaBat (nieces) and Sam Mabile (nephew).
