He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gloria Iscela Mendez de Navarro; daughters, Lindsey Navarro and husband, Mark Backus, and Cristina Navarro Garvie and husband, Matthew Garvie; Maria Catalina Navarro, Renee Navarro and wife, Brenda Perkins, Luz Navarro de Matos and husband, Rogelio Matos, Idalia Navarro and partner, Rafael Mendoza, Martin Navarro, Miguel Navarro; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation and funeral services celebrating the life of Juan E. Navarro will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Bayou Black Road from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, followed by Mass at 11:00 am. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Evangelista Sr. and Generosa Valdes Castrellon Navarro. Juan will be remembered most for his love of family and friends. Juan was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a godfather, a mentor, a friend, an engineer, a nurse, a dancer, a tennis player, a comedian, an incredible host and always the life of the party. He was a beacon of light who gave selflessly to others. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and always had a plan and solution for every problem. When he was not solving the world’s problems he enjoyed sailing, working on cars and spending time with family and friends.
