Ora Mae Johnson Poindexter, 51, a native of Gibson and resident of Houma passed 
away peacefully at 12:36 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on 
Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Dularge Community Baptist Church located at 549 
Andrew St in Houma. 

Burial will follow in Southdown Cemetery.

She is survived by her stepsons Donald Poindexter, Jr. and Aaron Steverson; 
brothers Earl Hasley, Sr. (Glenda) of Morgan City, Aaron Watson, Sr. (Sheila) 
of Chauvin, and Karo Johnson of Gray; sisters, Bobby J. Robinson and Geneva J. 
Diggs (Elmore) of Gray, Aline Johnson of Gibson, and Matte Londo of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Poindexter, Sr.; parents, Orel 
and Elnora Robinson Johnson brothers, Rev, Robert L., Mack, Charles, and Ernest 
Johson; sisters, Octavia J. Silas and Gertrude J. Doll; maternal grandparents, 
Earl and Geneva W. Robinson; paternal grandparents, Preston and Laura Johnson.

Arrangements entrusted to Jones Funeral Home of Houma.
