Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2017/f1702.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Adolfina "Abuela" Valdes Yzaguirre, 84, a native of Cuba and a resident of Houma, passed away on Feb. 20, 2017. Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the service to start at 11 a.m. at Samart Funeral Home, followed by the burial in Rogers Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Lissette Braud; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Francisco Yzaguirre; parents, Frandcisco and Adolfina Valdes; son, Juan Carlos Yzaguirre; brothers, Oscar Valdes, Francisco "Panchito" Valdes, and Luis Valdes; and grandchild, Terry "T.J." Anthony Braud Jr. Abuela was the life of the party. She loved music, dancing, playing dominoes, and dedicated her life to her family. She spent many years in the school system, starting as a kindergarten teacher and eventually becoming a principal in Cuba. Her favorite dish to cook for her family was arroz con pollo with her sangria. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======================
