Melissa Elaine Broussard, age 42, passed away after battling kidney failure for 
the past 13 years. 

She was a native and lifelong resident of Houma. Melissa was a member of Our 
Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma. She was a loving 
daughter, mother, sister, granddaughter and a very special Aunt that dearly 
loved her nieces and nephews. She also loved to travel and loved her rock and 
roll music especially the song Free Bird. Now Melissa is free as a bird and no 
longer suffering.

She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Grace Broussard, son, Matthew Self, 
daughter, Alyssa Self, brothers, Kenny Broussard, Jr. and wife Toni, Shawn 
Broussard and wife Chelsi, nieces, Reya and Adalia Broussard, nephews, Harley 
and Cole Broussard.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at 
Falgout Funeral Home in Houma and again on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Our Lady 
of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church located at 8594 Main Street in Houma 
from 9:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 
Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in 
Houma beginning at 11:30 a.m. 

Interment will be held at a later date in the church cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate Memorial contributions made to 
her two children.

Falgout Funeral Home, 211 Westside Blvd. in Houma entrusted with arrangements.
