"Shortdog" Dantin , 52, a native of Houma, LA and resident of Thibodaux, LA, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Thibodaux, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at the church. He is survived by his ex-wife and best friend of 20 years, Cheryl Chouest and husband, Ike Chouest; his 6 children, Chris Dantin, Jr., Matthew Dantin, Jonathan Dantin, Allie Dantin, Krissy Himel, Lance Dantin and wife Miranda; grandson, Kashton Christopher Keller; granddaughters, Adisyn Aidynn Dantin, Paisley Lirette, Paityn Lirette; brothers, Keith and Alvin Dantin III: sisters, Ronda Zeringue and husband Paul, Justine Holden and husband Eric, Debra Folse and husband James, Darlene Ledet and husband Terry. He is preceded in death by his son, Chris Dantin, Jr.; mother, Alma Dantin: father, Alvin Buddy Dantin, Jr.; sister, Tina Richard; sister-in-law, Stacey Dantin; nephews, James Richard, Jr. and Eric Holden, Jr. Cheryl Chouest would like to send a very heartfelt thanks to Rapides Regional Medical Center trauma surgeon, Dr. Timmer and staff, and all the wonderful nurses and staff on the 7th floor for going above and beyond for Chris and treating us like family . A very special heartfelt thanks to Ike Chouest from the bottom of our hearts for helping care for Chris before, during and after his accident. He was more than grateful for you in our lives. Chris is the strongest person I know. He fought so hard for the last year to live. He will forever be in our hearts and our hero. We love you, Pudding.
