She was born in New Orleans and a resident of Houma and Ball, La. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home in Chapel Dauphine on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 beginning at 9 a.m. until the Liturgy of the Word at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Joyce is survived by her brothers, Nolan Allen Darcey and Steve Farkas, Jr.; sisters, Adeline "Addie" Pellegrin, Gloria Darcey, Laurelle Fuselier Ardoin and formerly Mary Orgeron; Joyce is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Alice Bourg Darcey. Joyce loved life, she enjoyed Mardi Gras, going shopping, eating out with her friends and relatives but most of all she enjoyed going to the zoo. She was very loving and caring for her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them. She will be missed by all her family and friends. The family would like to thank Family Care Services in Pineville, La. and all the doctors and nurses at Rapides Regional Medical Center for their longtime care and compassion shown to Joyce.
