Ellen Marie Labbe Monteiro, 65, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017. 
She was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 9:30AM until Mass time 
at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will 
be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at noon. 

Burial will be held by the family at a later date. 

Ellen is survived by her loving husband John Monteiro Jr, Children, Rebecca 
Ellen Monteiro, Jacqueline Monteiro Griffin and husband Jeremy, John D. 
Monteiro III, Brother, Michael Labbe and wife Sherri, Sisters, Gayle Martien 
and late husband Ed, Diana Melancon and husband Freddie, Betty Chenault and 
husband Skipper, Grandchildren, Jase, and Jazlyn Griffin; She is also survived 
by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded by her Parents, Waldo Labbe Jr. and Mildred Davis Labbe.

Ellen loved to work in her garden. She loved her husband, children and 
grandchildren. She enjoyed playing tennis, roller blading and any outdoor 
activities. She never knew a stranger and anyone she met became fast friends.

Ellen was dedicated to her church, family and friends. She had a deep faith in 
God.

Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Monteiro family.
