Phillip “Bud” Tackno Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 
University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was 87 years old. 

A native of Port Allen, Louisiana, and a resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Enola Fletcher-Tackno, nine children: 
Leroy Tackno Sr. Betty Tackno-George (Martin) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Debra 
Valentine, Barbara Brown (LeMuel), Johnell Fletcher Sr. Mitchell Fletcher, 
Phyllis Peoples (Michael) all of Thibodaux, Louisiana. Melvin Tackno, Rose 
Peltier (Donald) of Texas. Sisters: Claudette Tackno, Paulette Tackno- Jones, 
Martelle Tackno- Brown, one brother Ruben Tackno Jr. (Carol) all of Port Allen, 
Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Lavenia Brooks and Ruben Tackno Sr. 
Two sons: Phillip Tackno Jr. and Donald Rae Tackno Sr. Three grand-daughters 
Dornessa Tackno-Bessye, Kimberly Tackno, and Jalea Fletcher.

He enjoyed walking, spending time with family, traveling and was an avid Saints 
fan. He served as an Elder at the Better Living Seventh- day Adventist church 
in Houma, Louisiana for more than 28 years and Central Seventh- day Adventist 
Church for 12 years.

Visitation will be held at Thibodaux Funeral Home, 104 St. Patrick Hwy., 
Thibodaux, LA on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:45 am.

Chapel service will begin at 12:00 noon.

Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
