Lionell "Shaft" Ward, 72, a native and a resident of Houma, passed away 
peacefully at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017,

A public viewing will be on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 
funeral time at 11:00 a.m. at Dularge Community Baptist Church located at 549 
Andrew St. in Houma. 

Burial will follow in Halfway Cemetery.

He is survived by his former wife Vera M. Ward; sons, Patrick (Kelly) and 
Timothy Ward (Daphne); daughters, Stephanie Ward and Deon W. Stewart (Gregory); 
fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Ward, Jr.; 
sisters, Eola Wolfe (Chester) and Susie Ross.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Darius Stewart; parents, Joseph. Sr. 
and Sadie Adams Ward; brothers, Earl and Roosevelt Ward.

Arrangements entrusted to Jones Funeral Home of Houma.
