She was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 9:00am to 11:00am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with a liturgy starting at 11:00am. Burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She was survived by her son, Luke Michael Bertrand; mother, Gail Badeaux Babin; sisters Heather Babin Marcel (husband Jeremy) and Jill Babin Lirette; nieces and nephew Lily Marcel, Ethan Marcel, and Ellie Lirette; and Luke’s father, Buddy Bertrand. She was preceded in death by her father Jerome Michael Babin; maternal grandparents Alphonse & Irene Badeaux; paternal grandparents Mae Francis & Leo Babin; and brother in law Timothy Lirette. Kelli loved to watch Luke play soccer and baseball. He was definitely her pride and joy along with being her purpose in life. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Kelli had a way of making you laugh with her witty humor and clever remarks such as ‘letmefindout’ and “Imean”. She was loved by many and will be missed but never forgotten. Her light will always shine bright in the hearts of those she touched. She loved listening to “gangsta rap” and going to the beach. She loved Ellie, Lily, and Ethan and liked spending time with them. Kelli loved to see Luke and his cousins share their love for each other. Kelli was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was there for many who suffered from the same disease, and she had a gift for writing about her journey along the way. For the past 4 years, Kelli lived her life as an open book and shared her story with many groups in the hopes of saving a life. She took one day at a time, and we loved her every step of the way. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Bernadette Catholic School Annual Fund as a restrictive gift for Luke Bertrand’s tuition, 309 Funderburk Ave, Houma, Louisiana 70364. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Babin family. ======================
