She is survived by her daughters, Patricia "Pat" Verret and husband Francis "Frank", Genevieve "Vee" Voisin and husband John "J.P.", Doris Punch and husband Allen "Fatso", Geraldine "Denny" Hargroves and husband Thomas. Son, Joseph "Joe Black" Brunet and wife Christine. 21 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Brunet Sr., sons, Chester Brunet Jr., daughter-in-law, Henrietta "Chickie" Brunet., Russell Brunet, daughter, Justelia "Beb" Falcon and son-in-law, Steve Falcon. Mary was a loving, kind, gentle, compassionate mother. She died peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Her husband Chester was the love of her life and they were married for 67 years. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchild. Cooking was her passion; it gave her great joy to feed family, friends, and even strangers. Everyone was welcome in her home. All holidays and especially Sunday’s, there was always a lunch waiting for all. No one would ever leave her home hungry or thirsty. Every day there was also a special time called “coffee time” where she would enjoy the company of her children, family, friends, and neighbors. She was a member of the St. Joseph Lady’s Altar Society for 78 years. Mary bowled on several leagues until the age of 82. She enjoyed the company of all her friends. The younger bowlers all called her “Granny.” She was the glue that kept the family together. Always taught everyone to be kind to others and love everyone. Told stories of the old days and said, “the young generation doesn’t know easy they have it today.” Mary enjoyed planting flowers. She always had a green thumb and everything she planted would grow beautifully. The Price is Right “the wheel”, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were her favorite TV programs. The family would like the thank Dr. William Ladd and staff of CIS; Dr. Brian Matherne and staff; Terrebonne Homecare and staff; Haydel Hospice and staff. We would also like to thank all of the nurses Norma, Andrea, Debra, Gladys, and Christie for all their kindness and compassion for our mother. Samart is in charge of arrangements. ======================
