Gaston “Monkey” Frederick Gros, 77, a native of Labadieville, LA and a resident 
of Thibodaux, LA, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 surrounded by his 
family.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. 
Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will 
begin at 11:00 am at the church 

with burial in St. Philomena Catholic Church cemetery in Labadieville.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Andras Ledet Gros; daughters, Malissa Gros 
Boudreaux and Angela Gros Falcon; first wife, Diana Foret Gros; stepson, Todd 
Ledet; brother, Johnny Gros; grandchildren, Justin Boudreaux, Nicole Boudreaux, 
Sarah Boudreaux Hebert, Saadi Boudreaux, Joshua Falcon, Jodi Lyn Ardoin; step-
grandchildren, Andre Ledet and Stevie Ledet; eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Camille Gros and Hazel Schwab Gros; 
son, Troy James Gros; sister, Betty Clement..

After serving his country honorably in the United States Navy, he spent over 
thirty years of his life as a sugarcane farmer in south Louisiana. When not 
working, he enjoyed his time at the casinos a great deal. He will be dearly 
missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.

“If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.”

The family wishes to offer their gratitude to the doctors and staff of Journey 
Hospice and the Cancer Center of Thibodaux.
