August 21, 1930 - April 12, 2017 Albon Pierre Hymel, Jr. passed away at his home in Luling on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 60 years to Dorothy Thibodaux Hymel. A native of Vacherie and resident of St. Charles Parish for 58 years. He is survived by 3 sons, Thaddeus and wife Pam, James and wife Denise and Richard and wife Angela; 1 daughter, Anne H. Candies and husband Paul; 9 grandchildren, Krysten Perque and husband Joshua, James Hymel, Jr. and wife Lauren, Nicholas Hymel, Justin Hymel, Mary Frances Candies, Jack Hymel, Julianne Hymel, Christopher Kenan and Camille Kenan; 3 great-grandchildren, Roark and Riley Perque and James Hymel, III; siblings, Harry Hymel, Lynn Hymel, Virgie Waguespack, Ethel Recatto and Judy Waguespack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albon Hymel, Sr. and Fidelise Amedee Hymel; brothers, Burchman Hymel, Jerome Hymel and Kenneth Hymel; sisters, Hazel Rome and Merilyn Kliebert. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling on Monday, April 17th. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 with visitation to follow until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Albon retired after 30 years with Monsanto Chemical Plant. He was a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. He loved spending time with his family at his camp and fishing on Grand Isle.
