Russell J. Ockman, 70, a native of Vacherie, LA and resident of Chackbay, LA 
passed away on April 21, 2017 surrounded by family.

A visitation will be held in his honor on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Our Lady 
of Prompt Succor Chackbay, LA from 8:30 am until the Mass of Christian Burial 
at 11:00 am. 

The burial will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean P. Ockman; children, Blaine Ockman 
and wife, Ashley, Nikki Ockman Hebert and husband, Eric, Greg Ockman, Brent 
Ockman and wife, Janna, Mark Ockman and wife Azadeh; parents, William and Hazel 
Rodrigue Ockman Jr.; brothers, Randy Ockman and wife, Nancy and Gary Ockman and 
wife, Linda; and grandkids, Allie Ockman, Alyse Ockman, Olivia Borne, Josephine 
Ockman; Nicholas Ockman, Alex Ockman, Kason Ockman, and Jeremy Ockman.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Josephine Ockman and 
Harvey and Edith Rodrigue.

He enjoyed fishing and his camp and spending time with his wife, kids and 
grandkids. He also loved to cook for his family and just have family surround 
him when ever possible. He will be greatly missed by his family.

The family would like to thank Thibodaux Home Health and the staff of St. 
Joseph Hospice.

Landry's Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
