Mary Elise Achee, 83, of Houma, passed away on May 17, 2017. 

Beloved mother, grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and her family. 
Always involved in her community.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Annunziata Church from 11:00 
am until 12:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 
20, 2017 at Annunziata Church, at 12:00 pm. 

Burial will take place in the St. Francis #1 Cemetery.

She is survived by her two daughters, Alice Barker and husband John, Mary Susan 
"Susie" Bourg and companion Billy Dufrene; four sons, James David Achee, Sr., 
Daniel "Danny" Achee, Sr and wife Mary, John "Johnny" Achee, Samuel "Sam" Achee, 
Sr.; sister, Laura "Cooky" Cowling Savoie and husband Tommie Sr., son-in-law, 
Jerry Bourg; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Anthony Achee, Sr.; father, 
James J. "Bugga Red" Cowling; mother, Irma LeBlanc Cowling; son, Richard 
"Dickey" Achee, Jr.; brother, James Cowling, Jr.; sister, Joy Cowling Freeman 
and Loy Cowling.

Samart Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
