She passed away at The Homestead on May 24, 2017 at the age of 101. Born the youngest child and only daughter of 7 children on October 1, 1915 to Ernest Theophile Walker and Caroline Whipple Walker of Bourg. She graduated from Terrebonne High School. Although she never had children of her own, Dolly was a remarkable little lady who cared for many people. Delightful suprises always awaited guests in her home. Homemade tea cakes, chocolate pecan cakes, and creamy fudge were her specialties, served with fresh cow’s milk, coffee, or Pepsi. Raising over 300 laying hens and caponizing over 200 chickens, she never lost a single one. Traveling to every state in the continental U.S. with her husband, brother, and sister-in-law yielded many fond memories. Survived by many nieces and nephews in the Callahan and Walker families, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Wallace Callahan; her parents, and her brothers: Gerald, Herman, Lloyd, Leslie “Dick”, Archie and Everard “Eckie” Walker; four nephews also preceded her in death. Visitation will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, Louisiana on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery, Houma, Louisiana. Aunt Dolly will be missed by all her surviving relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, Louisiana. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Callahan family. ======================
