Collins Sr., a native of Cheniere and resident of Golden Meadow, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the age of 79 years. Wilbert is survived by his wife Beatriz "Betty" Perez Collins; sons, Wilbert Jr., Levi III, Paul, Tracy and Nick Collins; daughters, Jean Collins, Lexie Bourgeois; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi Collins Sr. and Temise Cheramie Collins; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" C. O'Neal; and grandchildren, Levi Collins IV, Robert Collins & Joshua Collins. Oyster Fishing was his passion. He was a member of the oyster task force member of Lafourche Port Commission for 18 years. He was an honored Master Mason of Lodge #427 & #484. He was a member of the New Orleans Scottish Rite Consistory where he was K.C.C.H., Lafourche Shrine Club in Galliano of Jerusalem Shrine Center in Destrehan, and ROJ Court 36 in New Orleans. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. At 1 p.m. a Rose Ceremony will be held in the funeral home parlor. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements. ======================
