Uwell "U.J." Joseph Derouen, Jr., 72, of Houma, passed away on May 8, 2017.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 from 8am to 9:45am, with the 
memorial service to start at 9:45am, at Samart Funeral Home. 

A private burial will be held in Welsh, LA.

He is survived by his children, Mike Derouen, Uwell "Joey" Joseph Derouen III 
(Kelly), Charles Derouen (Mindy), Anthony Derouen (Stefanie May), Sarah 
Derouen, Aaron Derouen (Beth), and Christopher Derouen (Jessica); brother, 
Freddie John Derouen (Fay); former wife and mother of his children, Mary B. 
Lysle; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Uwell Joseph Derouen Sr. and Viola B. 
Derouen LeBouef; stepfather, Olivan LeBouef.

Samart Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
