Herbert Lee Howard, 78, a native and resident of Houma, passed away peacefully 
at 9:44 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until funeral time at11 a.m. on Thursday, 
June 1, 2017, at New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 146 Banks St. in Houma. 

Burial will follow in Union Benevolent Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Williams Howard; sons, Kirk and Willie Howard 
(Mia); daughters, Clarice H. Lewis (Gerald) and Maryland "Melissa" Howard; 
twenty eight grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; sister, Maude H. 
Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Herbert "June" Alvis; grandchildren, 
Da'Ronte, Alise, Deonta and Damonte Howard; mother, Maryland Howard; brother, 
Charles Coleman; and nephew, Dwayne Parker.

Jones Funeral Home of Houma in charge of arrangements.
