He was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Chauvin Funeral Home beginning at 9:00AM until service time. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Steven’s life will begin at 11:00AM. Steven is survived by his wife Shana Scott Belanger; sons Christopher and Joshua Belanger, Step son Chase Peltier and Stepdaughter Amber Peltier; his mother Elsie Rita Prosperie, Stepfather Claude “Dut” Prosperie, Stepmother Rita Belanger Breaux, sister Angela B. Porche and husband Terry, Stepsister Doresia “Dory” Talley and husband Thomas; godchildren Aubree Porche and Evan Porche. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry James Belanger. Steven proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal, E-4 and was also a dedicated employee of Shell Pipeline Company for over twenty-eight years. Steven was a man of adventure and loved to live life to the fullest. There was no obstacle that was too big. Some of his many hobbies and past-times were fishing, snow skiing, sky diving, water sports and motor cross. He loved his family dearly. He was spontaneously adventurous; often traveling the country with his family. His family was always first and at heart. He was a man for all seasons and will be dearly missed by all who knew him; but his memory and presence will never be forgotten and live on forever.
