GARDNER, VIRGINIA T. PINELL 

Virginia T. Pinell Gardner, 77, a native of Golden Meadow, a long resident of 
Houma and a current resident of Memphis, TN, passed away on July 2, 2017.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, 
July 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Samart Funeral Home in Bayou Blue. The 
funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, at 12 p.m. at Samart Funeral 
Home in Bayou Blue, followed by the burial in Rogers Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Ernie Gardner Sr.; adoptive daughter, Janet 
Mount and husband, Earl; daughters, Junita Waters and husband, Melvin, Patricia 
Hamrick, Ethel Tatum, and Lola Pippin and husband, Ray; sons, Henry Pinell and 
wife, Melissa, Ernie Gardner Jr. and wife, Roxanne, and Lofton Gardner and 
wife, Debbie; sister, Lucy Sparks and Rose Downing; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-
grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Pinell; parents, Ludrick 
Terrebonne and Cecila Smith Terrebonne; sister, Gloris Pitre; brother, Claude 
Terrebonne; son-in-law's, Joseph Hamrick and Pete Tatum; brother-in-law, 
Clifton Sparks and Theddus Pitre; and grandchild, Brent Waters.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for funeral expenses.

Samart Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
