Visitation will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 26th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Roberta is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald "Ronnie" Growl; mother, Leona Picard; sons, Rennie Growl (Tricia), Rhitt Growl (Robyn) and Richard Growl (Kellie); daughter, Robyn Tregre (Jonathan); brother, William "Billy" Picard, II; sister, Lenita St. Amant (Dennis); grandchildren, Carter, Gavin, Grace, Emersen, Amelia and Cullen. Roberta was preceded in death by her father, William "Dick" Picard; sister-in- law, Patricia "Patty" Picard. Roberta was raised on Waterford Plantation in Killona. Roberta and Ronald were married on August 28, 1971. Roberta was a devoted Catholic and a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she was a member of The Ladies Alter Society. She was a recipient of The Order of St. Louis Medallion. She was a retired school nurse with St. Charles Parish School System. She was the original "on call neighborhood nurse". Roberta enjoyed going to church, spending time in the Adoration Chapel at St. Mark Church and retreat at St. Joseph Abbey. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Special thanks to East Jefferson General Hospital Oncology and Notre Dame Hospice for their kindness and compassion during her illness.
