Norris Ernest Ledet, 97, passed away Friday, July 20, 2017. 
He was born on Ashland Plantation and resided in Houma.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until Service time 
at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. at 
the church 

followed by burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Norris is survived by his son, Gerard Joseph Ledet and his wife Leita, 4 
grandchildren, Melissa Briggs Lirette and her husband David, Michelle Ledet 
Hansen and her husband Craig, Keith Gerard Briggs and his wife Jackie, Jason 
Gerard Ledet and his wife Elizabeth. He is also survived by 20 great 
grandchildren.

Norris was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty LeCompte Ledet and 
his daughter, Wanda Ledet Briggs. Also his parents Alfred and Dea Portier 
Ledet, two sisters, Zulma Ledet Vice and Doris Ledet McElroy and one brother, 
Norman Ledet.

He was retired after 52 years as Vice President and Manager of Terrebonne 
Lumber and Concrete Company. He was a World War II Veteran and a member of VFW# 
Post 3700 of Houma.
