He was a wonderful, caring, loving, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was very family oriented. He loved family gatherings and enjoyed bringing his Bose to share his love for music at family gatherings. He often talked about the fun times spent with his family, especially at Disney. He was kind to everyone he met and loved to talk and get to know people. He always put others needs above his own. He took great pride in talking about his and his wife's ownership of Hideaway Ponds Campground in Gibson, LA., for which he spent many years of hard work to make it a nice, safe place for friends and families to meet and enjoy. David was born June 25, 1957, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, to parents Clinton Joseph Leger, Jr. and Dolores Smith Leger. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Wanda Hawkes Leger, of Thibodaux, LA; two daughters, Amy Moore, and husband Justin, of Baton Rouge, LA, and Sara Hebert, and husband Beau, of Richmond, TX; two grandchildren, Clinton Leger and Jane Leger; two sisters, Denise L. McGaw, and husband Dr. Harry J. McGaw, of Houma, LA, and Vickie L. Turner of Denham Springs, LA; and brother, James C. Leger, of Thibodaux, LA. He will also be missed and lovingly remembered by his stepsons, Michael A. Ryan of Lockport, LA and Duane P. Ryan, and companion Lori Bynum, of Bayou Blue, LA; and stepdaughters Jennifer D. Ryan, of Raceland LA, and Angela D. Fine, and husband Chris, of Mathews, LA; also by his twelve step grandchildren, who loved their "Paw Dave". He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton Joseph Leger, Jr. and Dolores Smith Leger and son Eric David Leger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Hanberry officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of service. Following the service, David will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux, Louisiana. ======================
