Born September 6, 1957 in Nurnberg, Germany, he was the second to the youngest of six children. Mark was a native to Groton, MA and a resident of Gray, LA. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, West Park - Houma, 4511 West Park Avenue, Gray, LA, 70359 (The new location) from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM and on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at St. Louis Church from 9:00 AM till funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Louis Church cemetery. Mark is survived by his wife of 25 years, Janelle (Porche) Moen; sons, Zachary J. and Cameron C. Moen; three sisters, Loretto (Moen) Aiken of Groton, MA, Col. Audrey (Moen) Cotton of Copperas Cove, TX, Barbara (Moen) Currier of San Diego, CA; two brothers, J. Kevin Moen of Escondido, CA, David Moen of Groton, MA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Major James L. and Loretto (Campbell) Moen; in-laws Peter and Genevieve (Breaux) Porche and brother-in-law John Aiken. Mark was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a hard working manager, paper maker and inventor. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank, Dr. Michael Watkins, Dr. Gamble, Eileen Mederos and Dr. Delacroix; his caregivers at Haydel Memorial Hospice, Toni Armstrong, and Christy Griffin and all the family and friends that helped them during this time.
