Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time on Tuesday, July 25 at the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales in Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday at the Cathedral with burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James E. Tabor, Jr.; daughters, Lisa K. Tabor, Nancy T. Faucheaux and husband Gordon, and Laura T. Martin and husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Lindsey Warren, Nicholas Tabor, Glenn Tabor, Noah Tabor, Caroline Michel, Gavin Tabor and Lillian Tabor; and siblings, Bubba Lapeyrouse and Patsy L. Savoie; and her beloved Godchild, Erika Chauvin. She was preceded in death by her sons, James E. Tabor, III and Leslie J. Tabor; grandson, Brendan J. Tabor; parents, Lionel and Thelma Rhodes Lapeyrouse; sister, Linda L. Chauvin; and grandparents, Ludger and Cordelia Pitre Rhodes, and Gustav and Mary Catherine Belanger Lapeyrouse. Janet lived for her family and friends and was always present with a helping hand, a hot meal or a willing ear. She was a gifted cook and baker, and could make a feast fit for a king from the most basic of staples. Janet found tremendous joy in feeding her family and friends; all were greeted with warm welcomes, and everyone had a seat at her table. Janet loved her God and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She will be missed terribly by her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her many dear friends. Special thanks to Drs. Cinnater, Dupont, McGaw, and Bourgeois; the staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, her nurse Mary Guillory; the entire staff of Journey Hospice, especially Allyson and Beverly, and her "sunshine," Marion Meador who was by her side until the very end. Falgout Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. ======================
